About Us

At Ladies of Charity Austin, we are dedicated to improving the lives of those in need by providing essential resources and support. Our mission is to make a positive impact in our community and beyond.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Ladies of Charity of Austin is to honor Our Lord Jesus Christ as  the source and model of all charity. By imitating Him in all their  endeavors, the members will seek sanctification for themselves and  others as they practice the virtues of humility, simplicity and charity  when they serve the sick and lonely and when they provide for the  spiritual and corporal welfare of the poor and needy of the community.

Our Mission

St. Vincent de Paul founded the Ladies of Charity in the 17th century.  It is a charitable organization of laywomen intended to provide for the  spiritual and corporal welfare of the poor and the needy of the  community.

Our Work

The Ladies of Charity of Austin, founded in 1880,  volunteer at the local soup kitchen, visit nursing homes, the state  hospital and state school. They operated a thrift store, the profits of  which funded charitable ministries and provide emergency assistance to  the needy.
